Marketing and Social Media
Last week, my group and I worked together to create social media accounts for our film. We made each of the usernames some variation of the movie title and then included the word "film" in order to establish that the account is for a movie rather than an individual person. We created accounts on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube. In order to do this we also created an email for our film that each account is linked to. We are all logged into each account and are monitoring their activity closely. Below you can see the logo we have designed and decided to use as profile pictures for the time being. We are discussing as a group the different content we plan to post. In addition to all of the social media platforms we have also created a website that is linked in each of our account profiles. The website also includes the link for each individual social media. The plan is to use these social media accounts to market our film and hopefully develop an excited audience before the film is released. As a whole, social media and the internet in general are extremely important and useful tools in this process. The publicity required in order for a film to succeed is, in my opinion, a fairly difficult and somewhat underestimated task. By posting inspiration photos, behind the scenes footage, or information regarding the release, the entire outcome of the movie can be altered for the better. Social media and website marketing are also all free sources of promotion which is important for a student-made film on a budget. Through interactions on our socials, such as likes and comments, we will also be able to gauge what content our audience is enjoying. Also, accounts such as our Instagram offer special features that allow us to view our overall reach and see our insights. We are going to be able to focus on our audience and their interests and hopefully cater to them with visually attractive material. I think we will all be taking part in the management of the accounts, but Chloe and I are good with Instagram, while Hillery is experienced with Facebook, and Blake will likely take charge of the Youtube. The Twitter will most likely be the most difficult seeing as none of us have any experience with the platform, however we are learning and are excited to use it to the best of our abilities. Our social media is live and active as of now and please do not hesitate to visit our website for more information!
