Welcome Back Blog!

Welcome back! Never thought I would get to look forward to these blogs all over again but here we are. This blog is going to cover my journey through A Level Media Studies. I found my experience with AS Level Media to be so much fun and very educational. I love what we study in Media Studies and I think it is so relevant to our lives. The understanding you gain definitely enhances the way you view movies and big conglomerates for the rest of your life. My name is Tess, I’m 17 years old and a senior in high school. I really love movies and theatre. Some of my favorite movies are Molly’s Game, Titanic, and Inception. I’m not quite sure what I want to go to college for yet, so my classes this year cover a few different areas. My interests include music, education, theatre, and film. In A Level Media, I have the opportunity to combine some of my top interests and use them to make a well-crafted final product. In this course specifically, I am most excited for the branding that we'll be adding to our movie. I think that, if done carefully, the creation and management of social media accounts, a website, and a postcard will be able to construct a whole new depth in the cultivation of the film. It has been very odd starting school online this year due to COVID-19, but I am grateful that I have had the resources to do so. It will be interesting working together as a group during these times to finish this production, but I think it will just make the end result that much more gratifying. For our film, I am hoping we can come up with a storyline that is easy to follow, yet still intriguing. I’m only a little worried that with a 5 minute time limit it could prove to be challenging to develop a plot with an ending. However, I know my group and I will most definitely be able to pull it off. In order to succeed I will be watching some short films and observing their execution of such a rapid plot development. I’m additionally looking forward to writing my critical reflection essay and seeing how it compares to my thoughts during AS Level. Overall, I am absolutely thrilled about taking this course and I can't wait to see what my group and I come up with this time.
