Group Blog!

 I am so happy about the group I will be working with this year. There are two big traits that really stick out to be about every member of my group: dedication and excitement. I know that each member will do everything possible to make the film as great as it can be. I'm also confident that we will all contribute equally and work hard as a team to do this. Excitement is also a trait I was really happy to observe. None of my group is doing this to get it over with or purely for our GPA, we all really want to see what we can do with a short film since we were given the opportunity. My group consists of Chloe Stein, Hillery Brinkworth, Blake Booysen, and myself. I have been friends and gone to school with Chloe since we were 6 years old. I have worked with her on numerous occasions on an abundance of school projects and I know that we have a good group dynamic. I also know that Chloe took AS Level two years ago, like I did, and she also really enjoyed it and excelled in the class. Hillery I have also known and gone to school with each other for years, she took AS Level last year too. I know that Hillery is a hard worker and she will definitely prove to be an asset to the group. The final member of our group is Blake. I haven't known Blake for very long, but I have heard great things about him as a student and teammate. Blake is also into film, he has multiple cameras and some other cool equipment that will be fun to use and will definitely help our movie look more professional. With COVID-19 still at large I know we will have to keep our exposure to others to a minimum. My group and I will be together for filming and writing, but I think we will keep the number of additional people that we use (cast members, etc) very small in order to promote social distancing. Corona Virus will be an obstacle in our process, but not one that is impossible to overcome. We have a lot of creative minds working together so I think there won't be anything that we can't adapt to. I'm so happy with my group and I can't wait to get started.

The full length feature of 9 was quite intense and followed a well-developed storyline filled with action and mystery. The movie centered around a post-apocalyptic world and featured small figurines sculpted by a doctor. The figurines fought for their lives throughout and one in particular, 9, fought to find out why things were happening the way that they were. There were a lot of things done by the director that contributed to the effects of the film. The audience was able to meet and get to know the characters on a very personal level. This developed each of the characters farther in terms of opinion and helped to justify any of their actions if necessary. Reporter Phil:)

Hey everybody! One of the parts of our movie that I am most excited for is when the reporter is breaking the scary news about the virus to a group of friends. He comes back once more later in the movie for a safety announcement regarding a vaccine. This reoccurring character: reporter Phil, becomes symbolic of the media and creates a parallel to the real world. The COVID-19 pandemic has been going on since before any of us knew we were going to get to take this class, so since our movie revolves around a similar theme, we knew what we had to include. The media and news stations have played a huge role in our society during this pandemic so we included reporter Phil in an obvious way that would get that message and that feeling across. Reporter Phil is being portrayed by none other than Philip Stein, Chloe's dad. Mr. Stein is very excited about his part and we are eager to see him perform it.
